An elegant and complex gamay that out delivers its price. This ruby colored wine with light brown rim, that offers subtle notes of red berries, spices, red flowers, and mineral, leaves room to a supple, refined, extremely satisfying palate that invites you to relaxation. A gorgeous, complex lighter wine, that could go toe to toe against a Beaujolais cru due to the old vine and the 16-month aging in French oak barrel. A fine dining wine for a very reasonable budget. Natural yeast. Vegan wine, produced on the principles of Biodynamic process. Only 160 cases were produced. Only Celerier's Cellar sells this wine in the USA.

The warm Winter of 2018 prevented the soil to refill enough moist and set up the stage for a dry spring. Coming May, a lasting drought took place, followed by a very hot and dry weather in June. This created an opposite effect on the plant that went dormant due to exhaustion, stopping the maturing of the fruits. It resulted with problematic tannins, that stopped maturing while it started so well early in the season. 30% to 40% yield was lost, but the quality was very high. Although the thick skin could have been a real problematic for other vintners, Arnaud applied his signature finesse technique to make sure that he brings forth complexity and the terroirs, instead of a simplistically heavy approach.

A blend of 2 terroirs. Hautes Cotes de Nuits brings power and minerality due to its solid Jurassic Limestone terroir, while the vines planted in the valley benefit from a rich and nutritious clay based soil that offers an array of fruits and lush aromatics.
