Marco Brangero
Brangero, Quatro Cloni, Nebbiolo d'Alba, Langhe, Piedmont, 2021
RedSoft and balanced Nebbiolo, ruby red in color with garnet reflections. On the nose it lends mainly towards aromas of rose, cherry and strawberry, but also releases discreet woody, spicy and earthy notes. On the palate it is linear and slender, with rounded and medium-bodied flavors, aided during drinking by a gentle but dominant tannic texture. Vegan.
Intensive labor by hand, plowing, trimming, pruning, control of yield, and harvests done by hand. Each harvest, made after an accurate summer pruning. Minimal intervention and sustainable farming are practiced. Yields 45 hl per ha.
Brangero Nebbiolo takes place through a submerged capsule maceration on the skins for about 3 months after fermentation in wooden tanks. Aged for 18 months in barrique followed by 12 months in bottle before release.
The 2021 vintage started with a mild winter and beneficial rains, leading to a promising start. Despite some challenges, including hailstorms, the year is considered to produce quality wines with good structure and complexity. One that will age well.
