The 2020 season began with a mild, early spring, promoting rapid budbreak and excellent fruit set despite localized frost pressure. Early summer was warm and dry, ensuring healthy canopies and small, concentrated berries. July and August brought sustained heat with limited rainfall, accelerating ripening while preserving remarkable sanitary conditions. The dry late summer favored thick skins and intense phenolic maturity without excessive sugar accumulation. Harvest took place unusually early, delivering Pinot Noir of superb balance: deep color, ripe yet vibrant fruit, firm but refined tannins, and pronounced terroir definition typical of Nuits-Saint-Georges.
Cote de Nuits, Bourgogne, France
Terroir “Les Brulees”, close to the best parcel Premier Cru les Saints Georges, in the southern part of Nuits Saint Georges. The parcel faces East and South-East. Its silty-clay soil, from the Combe of Nuits Saint Georges, is mixed with little reddish rocks (from iron pigmentation). Its depth is medium to medium high, and covering a sub-sediment of marl from the Bajocian Epoch (marl with Ostrea acuminata).
