ONLY 60 BOTTLES AVAILABLE

Tenuta Larnianone’s Pliocene Toscana IGT 2020 is the estate’s flagship cuvée, produced from its finest parcels rooted in ancient Pliocene marine soils in the hills near Siena. These mineral-rich soils bring remarkable depth, structure, and complexity to the wine. The 2020 vintage reveals concentrated dark cherry and blackberry layered with Mediterranean herbs, graphite, and subtle spice. Rich yet balanced, the palate shows polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long mineral finish that reflects its exceptional terroir. Produced in extremely limited quantities, only 60 bottles were imported for Pennsylvania and Washington DC, making this a rare opportunity for collectors and lovers of distinctive Tuscan wines.

Winter 2019–2020 in the hills around Siena was mild with regular rainfall, allowing soils on the estate’s Pliocene formations to recharge and ensuring balanced vine dormancy. Spring brought steady temperatures and intermittent showers, encouraging an even budbreak and healthy vegetative growth. Early summer conditions were warm but not excessive, supporting gradual berry development and concentration. July and August were typically Tuscan—sunny and dry—yet tempered by cooler nights that preserved acidity and aromatic freshness. The deep, mineral-rich Pliocene soils helped the vines regulate water naturally, concentrating the fruit on the estate’s finest parcels. A stable, dry September allowed slow and complete ripening of the grapes. Harvest took place under excellent conditions, with perfectly mature fruit selected for the estate’s flagship cuvée, expressing depth, structure, and the distinctive character of the Pliocene terroir.
